Rams to start Nick Foles; Keenum (concussion) out
Nick Foles steps back into the starting lineup at Quarterback after losing the job prior to the Baltimore game.
EARTH CITY, Mo. – St. Louis Rams quarterback Case Keenum has still not made it through the concussion protocol and will be questionable for this Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals. So, the league’s gathering information and we’re looking at the system under which we operate right now to see if there’s anything we can do to where we avoid that kind of situation that happened to Case. For most of the week, Keenum split reps in practice with Foles, but Foles took more than Keenum on Friday as the Rams finished practice outside in the rain.
“I’m so excited about Nick getting a chance to play”, Fisher said.
Fisher left himself nearly no choice after Keenum’s controversial injury was mishandled a week ago. “So, there will be a conference call and the league’s going to gather the information and they’ll adjust the features ever so slightly, I guess, on game day”.
With Case Keenum out with a concussion, Foles starts again for the Rams just a week after being benched by head coach Jeff Fisher.
The NFL Players Association also announced it would further investigate the failings of the concussion protocol that allowed Keenum to continue.
