Ramsey: Consistency the key to unlocking Arsenal’s title hopes
Two players now not in Wenger’s first-team plans are Joel Campbell and Chuba Akpom, with the latter possibly set to gain experience by moving on loan to the Championship, though the Star does not mention interest from any specific club.
The Welsh midfielder was highly coveted following his arrival on the scene at Cardiff City and both Arsenal and the Red Devils had bids accepted for the 17-year-old. The Gunners appear ready and willing to cover Busquets’ weekly £120,000 salary in hopes to close the deal on the Spaniard’s move to the Emirates.
Ramsey recently revealed his reasons behind snubbing a move to Manchester United in favour of joining Arsenal, and they’re pretty obvious.
Wenger has shown his appreciation with Busquets’ talent on the pitch, and is prepared to fund the midfielder if he and Barcelona are willing to make the transfer go through. His experience, knowing how to deal with [young players] is quite remarkable. Although the Spanish outfit have been linked with Aguero and Reus, it seems none of them are up for sale this summer and therefore, Perez is keen to hold on to Benzema.
Ramsey, though, hasn’t given up on once again leading out his country as they aim for a bright future on the back of their march on Euro 2016 qualifying and the optimism surrounding their top-seed status going into the recently-drawn 2018 World Cup preliminary campaign.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey admits that captaining the Gunners is “something I would like to do one day”. “But at the moment I’m with Arsenal and I feel like this Arsenal team can go and be successful and challenge for things”.
