Ranieri: Kante’s Future Is In His Hands
The France midfielder was a key player for Leicester as they claimed the EPL.
Antonio Conte is said to have agreed a five-year contract with the 25-year-old Premier League victor.
Chinese side Shanghai SIPG and PSG have been making moves and that has forced Conte to up his proposal.
Chelsea’s offer of £27m plus £3m in add-ons is likely to be rejected by Leicester.
The Telegraph say that Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus are all also interested, but Chelsea are doing all the running at the moment.
Reports in France have stated that Chelsea have already agreed a fee of £29m with Leicester for Kante but we understand that is not the case.
“I would like know to be sure who stays with me or not, because the friendly matches start now and I have to start to manage and change and try things”.
After a tremendous season with Leicester City and a run to the Euro final with France, N’Golo Kante has been the subject of a lot of transfer speculation.
Leicester won the title by 10 points. The former Caen player averaged 4.7 tackles and 4.2 interceptions per game in the league past year, topping the charts for both in the league.
Ranieri celebrated a year in charge of Leicester on Wednesday, transforming the club from relegation strugglers to Premier League champions in 12 months.
“We are a very good group and for me it is important he comes here with the right mentality”.
“To repeat (winning the title) will be very hard”.
Kante was named on the six-man shortlist for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award last season – which was won by team-mate Riyad Mahrez.
Chelsea, however, are optimistic of sealing Kante’s signature soon and are keen to have him on board before they fly to the United States for their pre-season tour.
