Rapper arrested after encouraging fans to jump barricades
Travi$ Scott was kicked off the stage at Lollapalooza on Saturday (August 1), shortly after his set began.
Scott was super hyped as he took the stage in front of 100,000 people, telling everyone to ignore security and climb over the barricades.
Rapper Travi$ Scott’s Lollapalooza 2015 set didn’t last for long.
No fans were injured when they jumped the barricades. “The performer fled the scene and was taken into custody a short while later”. According to the Chicago Tribune, there were seven arrests on Friday – the first day of the music festival. One of his fans was also charged with the same.
Scott left Grant Park after the incident and was arrested a short time later by Chicago Police.
A representative for the rapper could not be reached immediately. She says Scott will be charged with disorderly conduct.
Rumors of an arrest circulated among fans on Twitter.
“Fans jumped the barricade into the security pit at Lollapalooza during Travis Scott‘s performance on Saturday at Lollapalooza”, the statement read. Operations have resumed as normal.
