Rapper Lil B accepts tryout invitation from 76ers’ D-League affiliate
Tryouts for the team are on September 19th and you can be sure that this will be one of the most highly anticipated D-League tryouts ever.
The Based God curse was also made relevant during the 2015 playoffs, but not because of Kevin Durant. Harden soon told reporters he did not know who Lil B was, which many fans thought was a lie given his popularity.
Lil B, birth name Brandon McCartney, is 26 years old and stands at 5 foot-6 so if he were to somehow make this team it would be a huge upset. All things considered, it’s probably best to stay on the good side of Lil B.
While the big club didn’t reach out to the rapper, their D-League team did. Instead, the 26-year-old California native will be trying out for the Delaware 87ers with hopes of following National Basketball Association Development League alumni like Jeremy Lin to the show.
And just this past season, the “Based God Curse” was placed on James Harden after the Houston Rockets’ guard used Lil B’s “cooking dance” without giving The BasedGod the proper credit. That tryout didn’t result in a roster spot, but now, the rapper is getting a second chance. Now he’s back in the saddle, having accepted an invitation to try out for the Philadelphia 76ers D-League team, the Delaware 87ers.
Does this mean Lil B will place the Based God curse on the rest of the Atlantic Division?
