Raul Jimenez will be West Ham’s last summer signing, says Slaven Bilic
The Premier League club are set to be without forwards Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll for a matter of months and Jimenez is part of the solution.
The Ecuadorian picked up an injury on Europa League duty and West Ham are hoping to have Jimenez in through the door as quickly as possible. I ask the same simple questions to my physio and medical department.
“He has been working for a few weeks but last week he was doing individual stuff without any problems so now the injury is gone”. We want to bring him back slowly but as soon as possible without any risk to his training, so he can gain fitness.
New West Ham boss Slaven Bilic believes the Mexico global can play a role for the Upton Park outfit next term as they look to battle it out on a number of fronts.
West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has confirmed his side are closing in on the signature of Atletico Madrid striker Raul Jimenez, but is planning to bring in no further players after the Mexican. Anyway, he will not make the squad for Sunday.
“We are close but it is not done”, he said of a move for Jimenez.
Bilic says that he may return to action in late August or early September – which could mean potentially playing against one of his former clubs, either Liverpool away or Newcastle United at home. “Our aim is to be mid-table, to be as high as possible, we will give everything we can – let’s say if we finish top 10 that is major success”.
