Ravens beat Browns with touchdown off blocked field goal
We’ve got a lot of special teams players and they’re very well coached. We are going to discuss it more and determine our best course of action moving forward.
“[I’ll] make the decision for this week that’s best for the team”, he said.
This season of injury upon injury for the Ravens finally includes a break worth celebrating. He was asked if a one-game punishment was enough.
“I gather the opinions of others”.
McCown’s fracture will not need surgery, Pettine said.
McCown has been extremely injury prone this season as he has missed four games already thanks to a concussion and shoulder and rib injuries. It wouldn’t last long, though, as Kamar Aiken scored on a 15-yard pass from Schaub. He was shaken up after the play, prompting Davis to warm up on the sideline. “I think the game-plan from Trestman’s perspective was to get the ball out quickly from Matt Schaub so he wouldn’t have to worry about getting sacked with those three second string lineman in the game and the fact that they were limited on the outside”. He threw two passes without being hit and left the game in obvious pain. “He did a heck of a job on the touchdown drive”.
After losing seven of their opening nine games, the Ravens have won two straight for the first time this season. “You pretty much have to drag him off the field”.
It could be worse though, McCown really does not have a future with the Browns because he is on the older side for an National Football League quarterback and the Browns are a rebuilding franchise.
Coach Mike Pettine confirmed the news on Tuesday, but would not say whether the team would bring back Johnny Manziel for Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Davis got some starting experience with the St. Louis Rams previous year, and he showed it with some clutch passing in the fourth quarter in relief of injured Josh McCown. And in that game, Chargers kicker Bob Thomas had his attempt blocked not once but twice by the Broncos in overtime, when the score was tied at 24-all. He had the Browns (2-9) in position to kick a game-winning field goal only to have it blocked and returned 64 yards for a touchdown on the game’s final play.
And something finally went the right way for the Ravens (4-7), who have been decimated by injuries all season and seem to take every game down the last ticks on the clock.
