Ravens’ Perriman has surgery to fix PCL, out indefinitely
Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman aggravated his knee injury before last weekend’s game, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported, and is out indefinitely after having arthroscopic surgery this week.
This continues a frustrating and painful rookie season for Perriman, who has yet to play a snap after being the No. 26 overall pick. Perriman appeared to be making progress, as he returned to practice last week for the first time since July 30. Perriman already had been ruled out by the Ravens for the game before the report of the surgery. He had been sidelined eight weeks after injuring his knee on the first day of training camp.
Smith has 25 receptions on the season, more than twice the number any of his teammates have through three games.
The Ravens can now count on only four receivers who are basically possession pass-catchers: Kamar Aiken, Marlon Brown, Michael Campanaro and the only productive receiver so far this season, 36-year-old Steve Smith Sr.
When asked early this week about a possible setback, Head Coach John Harbaugh said: “I have no idea what you’re talking about”.
