Ravens vs. Seahawks: 3 Lessons learned from Seattle’s win
Coach Pete Carroll said they’ll have to wait through the week to determine Burley’s status for Sunday, but Carroll thought he’d be OK. “[He] just exemplifies what we’re all about: toughness, and hard-nose, and committed, and grit and all that stuff”.
Those players have allowed the Seahawks to stretch the field much better and have more splash plays, a staple of the offense over the past two years. Tight end Jim Dray came off the bench, playing 47 percent of offensive snaps to help Cleveland rush for 230 yards on 41 carries and two touchdowns.
Rawls left Sunday’s game against Baltimore in the first quarter with a broken ankle after he was pulled back by a gang of Ravens tacklers on a 3-yard loss.
Rawls, who has been starting in place of the injured Marshawn Lynch, broke his ankle and suffered ligament damage during the Seahawks’ 35-6 win over Baltimore on Sunday. He went into the game with 786 yards rushing and four touchdowns as the primary replacement for Lynch, who is recovering from last month’s abdominal surgery. NFL.com noted that on Sunday, he was ranked 10th in the league in rushing.
Seattle teammate Richard Sherman, who also played with Baldwin at Stanford, had another solid effort at cornerback while helping the Seahawks win their fourth in a row and six of their past seven. The site even noted that Rawls could have been in the running for the Rookie of the Year award.
Carroll does not believe that Rawls will need surgery. “We have a lot of confidence in him and I think he’s making great progress”.
“I don’t know”, he said.
Multiple reports indicated the Seahawks released Harris, wide receiver B.J. Daniels, and safety Akeem Davis. Still, it is not definitive at this point. He was back in rehabbing with us. “Let’s see how good we can get”. “He’s got to get past that, whatever impact that has had and then he’s got to get back into football shape and get going”, Carroll said.

Not only was he happy over the Seahawks’ victory, he was happy over a four-game winning streak that has the team in the middle of the NFC playoff picture.
