Raw video of victims escaping Paris theater, jumping out windows, dragging
The journalist who shot the video of the Paris attacks that caused folks to flee from the Bataclan concert venue described that being shot in his arm felt like a firecracker had gone off in his arm in the attack.
As well, there have been reports of at least two explosions outside Stade de France and a hostage situation at Bataclan theatre with as many as 100 people held captive, BFMTV reports.
A few could be seen clinging on by their fingers to window ledges high up on the wall of the building after climbing from second-floor windows.
The footage was captured by Daniel Psenny, a journalist with le Monde newspaper, who lives in an apartment behind the Bataclan club. Gunfire could be heard from inside the theater late Friday.
UPDATE (Dan): Police are leaving dead bodies on the ground because they suspect that other suicide bombers are waiting for them to approach the bodies, then will run toward the cops and blow themselves up.
Surrounded by emergency vehicles, officers are seen breaking cover as they attempt to bring down the terrorists before retreating when they are met with a volley of rapid-fire shots. “We stayed hiding there until the storming of the hall and the RAID [special forces] came to find us”. [When] I opened the door of the building, there was a man lying on the sidewalk… I must have gotten shot at that time, I do not know, [I’m drawing a blank].
The crowd is enjoying the band when mid song loud bangs, what is believed to be gunshots, can be heard. One had been shot in the leg, he was an American.
The extent of those who were complicit in the attack still remains unknown. “I don’t know how to justify it. I intellectually guess that “it’s okay”, but it feels f***ing bad either way”.
Lynda told Buzzfeed France she lost her friends during the commotion, but in her place on the floor found comfort with others. The shooting stopped, and Jon lifted his head up to see the gunman move from one side of the hall to the other before unleashing another volley of gunfire.
Benjamin Cazenoves, who says he was injured in the attack, posted a message on Facebook from inside the Bataclan that has since gone viral. The images of them circling like vultures will haunt me.
