Real-life Bambi and Thumper? Fawn and rabbit play in viral video

A friendship between a fawn and a rabbit seemed like something that could only happen in a Disney movie, but now the fantasy has come to life.

The scene evoked memories of watching the 1942 Disney classic Bambi for some YouTube viewers.

YMCA of the Rockies spokeswoman Martha Sortland said the video was recorded August. 6 by volunteers Steve and Vicky Johnsen.

The couple told KUSA the two played together for 30 to 40 minutes outside of the YMCA of the Rockies.

More than one staffer said they’ve seen the duo hopping around together before. Thanks to Steve and Vicky Johnsen, volunteers at the Estes Park Center, for capturing this adorable moment!

The video shows the deer jumping and scampering around its rabbit friend in front of the Lula W. Dorsey museum in Estes Park, Colorado.
