Real Madrid call press conference
The 26-year-old, who has been given a more central role under Rafael Benitez, admitted he may return to England in the future, but would first like to win everything he can in Spain.
The loss for Madrid leaves them six points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table following consecutive defeats in the Spanish top flight.
“Real Madrid already have a new coach in Zidane, I believe it’s time to give him the opportunity, as Barca did with Pep Guardiola and Luis Henrique [sic]”.
Sky Bet were quick to get their next Real Madrid manager market up, with Zinedine Zidane the early 5/2 favourite. “Right now I’m at Castilla”.
The press conference is likely to relay one of two things: either Rafa Benitez will be relieved of his duties as Head Coach at the Bernabeu, or he will be given the dreaded vote of confidence.
The report stated that Ronaldo told Perez after the recent hammering at the hands of Barcelona that if Benitez remains as manager at the Bernabeu, he’ll be forced to find another club.
When asked if he stayed in the summer with a view to managing the first team in the future, he said: “I stayed because of Castilla”.
“I’m still lacking a lot, and anyway a coach is never ready”.
“It was just play, play, play, do as well as you can for the team, try to score goals and make assists, and whatever happens at the end of the season happens”.
“I am doing things little by little and I am in no rush”.
