Real Madrid talks, new striker demands, goalkeeper done
Arsenal are eyeing a bid for Liverpool target Denis Cheryshev with the attacker reportedly ready to quit Real Madrid following showdown talks with the Spanish giants, according to the Mirror.
And Cheryshev has been reported to be meeting with the club hierarchy with his agent today in order to figure the course of his future at the club. And it is believed the winger favour a move away from the Bernabeu if he is not guaranteed regular game-time for the campaign ahead.
That news is likely to alert both Premier League sides that are supposedly chasing his signature.
Cheryshev had the lowest pass accuracy percentage of any Villarreal player last season with 69%. The Gunners appear to be leading the way, with the Metro suggesting that they have already made a £14.9m bid for the Russian global, which falls slightly short of Los Blancos’ valuation of £15.3m.
Arsene Wenger is under increasing pressure to spend after their shock defeat to West Ham and while Cheryshev wouldn’t solve the North Londoners problems at the back, he would give them another unsafe option in attack.
He worked his way up the ranks at Madrid since joining in 2002, spending most of his career playing in the Real Madrid Castilla side where he has made over 100 appearances.
