Real Madrid to sign Sissoko if Pogba deal fails
Now however, The Telegraph are reporting that preliminary talks have taken place between representatives of Newcastle United and Real Madrid, with a deal set to take place once Paul Pogba is officially unveiled as back at Old Trafford.
Real Madrid are reportedly ready to make their move for Moussa Sissoko.
Zinedine Zidane is an admirer of his compatriot but Madrid are unwilling to match the world-record fee United, who have been in pole position for some time, will pay as well as meeting Pogba’s salary demands. The player was generally considered to have had a poor season previous year, but shone at the Euro Championships for France.
Subsequently a host of teams from across Europe have been aligned with the rangy midfielder, and reports claim that Real have highlighted the ex-Toulouse man as the player they will chase if the miss out on Pogba.
Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Everton are also linked with the 26-year-old, who impressed for Les Bleus at Euro 2016. PSG are not likely going to sell the Italian midfielder and Madrid are questioning whether Sissoko would really be an upgrade or not, so Madrid might as well stay put and don’t spend any more money this summer. Furthermore the French club are starting a new period under Emery and getting rid of one of their bigger names doesn’t appear to be an option.
