Real Madrid will give Man United star £12m to see out contract
The development ends any hopes Manchester United may have still had of signing Ramos this summer and will be a disappointment to Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal.
The report added that United also want to get Argentina worldwide Sergio Ramos before they finally sell De Gea, but the Madrid defender seemingly has decided to sign a new deal with Los Blancos for a contract of £7.1 million a year.
United want £35m for the 24-year-old, who has not featured so far this season, so Real would in fact save money if they are prepared to wait. Elsewhere, though, there’s an expectation that Kevin De Bruyne will make his way to City too, giving United less reason to worry over sorting the Pedro deal. It means the player will cash in rather than United getting a big fee. He will continue to train with the side knowing that his agent Jorge Mendes will keep his promise, i.e to find a solution so that he could be transferred to Real Madrid in the summer.
Reports in Spain suggest Eliaquim Mangala could go the other way on loan as part of the deal.
Indeed, Ramos reportedly informed Real of his desire to move to the Premier League earlier in the transfer window – a request that is said to have been flatly rejected by Perez.
However, the 23-year-old centre-half insists he is not aware of the interest.
“Jannik is an important player in our first-team setup”.
