Rebecca Ferguson Will Return for Mission: Impossible 6
To mark the release of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation on 7th December, we’ve been given 3 copies to give away on DVD.
Rebecca Ferguson, as MI6-trained Ilsa Faust, was a big highlight of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and the franchise is going the smart route of making her its first leading lady to make a substantial reappearance.
The “Mission: Impossible” film franchise has spanned over five films, and while star Tom Cruise has always been a constant the same can’t be said for his female counterpart. And it’s just wonderful news. A virtual unknown prior to this role, Ferguson not only held her own, but often stole scenes from Tom Cruise.
No release date has been set yet, but a release sometime in the summer or Christmas season of 2017 seems most likely.
McQuarrie’s return is also a first for the series.
At this rate, Ferguson may become a natural candidate to take over the franchise. However, through a delicious bit of fortuitous timing, we spoke with Christopher McQuarrie this morning, and he told us that information about Rebecca Ferguson’s possible casting in Mission: Impossible 6 are NOT coming from him or his team. Since breaking out big time with Rogue Nation, she was considered for the female lead in Gambit, filmed the buzzed about The Girl on The Train, and landed the female lead opposite Michael Fassbender in The Snowman.
