Mazda has launched another Takata recall campaign for older B-Series pickups from the 2004-2006 model years.
The recall impacts 19,000 trucks in the US, including Puerto Rico and Saipan.
Therefore, Mazda is stopping sales indefinitely and recalling all units.
This is the second recall for Takata inflators in 2004-06 B-series trucks.
If a customer has concerns about driving their vehicle before the fix is available, dealers will offer a free loaner, demo, or rental vehicle. These include Mazda6 and Mazda RX-8 vehicles equipped with the “PSDI-4” driver-side air bag inflator, the “SDI-160” driver side air bag inflator, or the “SPI” passenger-side air bag inflator.
Thankfully, Mazda says that it knows of no accidents or injuries linked to the problem. Owners can call Mazda at 800-222-5500, NHTSA’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more information.
