Recall ordered of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream over possible metal pieces
Four batches of the ice cream are thought to be affected and customers are being asked to check batch numbers printed at the bottom of their pots.
A post on The Food Safety Authority Ireland website explains that the ice-cream has been recalled because they may contain “small pieces of metal”.
Anyone who finds a tub with batch codes L62110L011, L62111L011, L62112L011 and L62113L011 are being encouraged to dump them immediately.
The company said it takes pride in the quality of its ice cream and that only a limited amount of products are affected.
Customers were advised to check the batch number on the bottom of tubs, and not eat the product if it matched the recalled batches.
It is unclear how many pots of ice cream could be affected.
Spotted on JOE.ie, four batches of Ben and Jerry’s Cookie Dough ice cream have been recalled this week.
The batch codes are L62110L011, L62111L011, L62112L011 and L62113L011.
Customers who have been affected can claim a voucher for a replacement ice cream by calling the brand’s customer careline.
‘If it matches the batch numbers listed, they should not eat the product and instead discard it in their household bin.
