Record High Temperatures Possible Over the Weekend
Daily highs in the upper 50s are called for on Thursday, threatening the record daily high of 58 degrees 2012.
It would not be a stretch to see the high temperature skirt record territory.
It will also be partly sunny and breezy Thursday, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour, according to the weather service. However a year ago was the sixth warmest December since 1949, with temperatures 6.4 degrees above normal.
The weather is expected to get warmer as the week continues with temperatures possibly reaching a high of 60 degrees or more on Saturday, our news partner ABC57 reported. If the forecast proves correct, the high would match the record set in 1923.
As it is, the forecast temperatures are well above normal for this time in December. “It only takes one rain event to tip it to high chances of above-normal precipitation”, said Daniel P. Kelly, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service station in Buffalo.
