Record warmth for Christmas

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Highs in the lower 70s. Some storms could become strong/severe in spots, producing gusty straight-line winds and/or hail. Some with a high wind threat once again. Rain chances will be going up by Sunday afternoon and evening as our next storm system approaches. Lows near 68. Highs near 75. Winds: Southeast 5-15 miles per hour.
There looks to be less rain for Christmas Day, but clouds will linger and isolated showers and storms are still possible. Temperatures will range between 10 to 30 degrees above average in most places and will challenge record-high temperatures.
Monday: Cloudy with a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
SUNDAY NIGHT: A few rain showers will be possible, with an overnight low temperature of 50 degrees. Lows near 47. Highs near 56.
There is a possibility of thunderstorms late Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service’s Hazardous Weather Outlook.
That wasn’t the case Wednesday; the high reached 64, breaking the previous mark of 59 set in 1957.
Some of the cities at risk for potential flooding include Tallahassee and Pensacola, Florida; Monroe and Alexandria, Louisiana; Jackson and Biloxi, Mississippi; Mobile and Montgomery, Alabama; Atlanta and Macon, Georgia; Greenville and Spartanburg, South Carolina; Charlotte and Asheville, North Carolina.
