Red Dead Redemption 2 gets long-awaited gameplay footage
This is just Part 1 of the gameplay trailer series Rockstar has put together to introduce us all to the world of Red Dead Redemption 2.
This new footage acts as something of an introduction to gameplay systems, setting the stage in America’s heartland swamps, forests, towns, and developing cities.
Following the vast success of Red Dead Redemption, Rockstar first announced a sequel to the critically-acclaimed title in October of 2016.
This one should explain itself, but as long as you’re near a device connected to the internet that can play video, you’ll be able to watch the gameplay reveal. Players can interact with NPCs and can either make friends to foes.
In practice, the trailer shows a few examples. As you explore the dying West, you’ll be exposed to new activities such as hunting, camping, mini-games like gambling, and more.
Rockstar is hoping to create a living world with Red Dead Redemption 2 and they’ve introduced some mechanics to help demonstrate this.

This system sees non-player characters react differently to the protagonist depending on actions that the player has taken. We can’t wait to don our ten-gallon hat and grab our six-shooters when Red Dead Redemption 2 finally releases in October 2018 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In the just over six-minute video, we saw a whole lot of what Rockstar has been cooking up for us for the past near-decade of development.
Shooting and fighting have apparently been improved in Red Dead Redemption 2 as well, but exact details have not been announced. You can avoid having a rebellious horse by treating it well throughout your playthrough. Each weapon has their own unique characteristics, with realistic animations that give an authentic gunslinger feel.
