Red Dead Redemption Comes To Xbox One
[Image via Rockstar Games]Xbox One manages backwards compatibility by emulating the entire Xbox 360 operating system, as previously reported on by the Inquistir.
Those Xbox One owners who have never played Red Dead Redemption can buy it via the Xbox Store on their Xbox One console or via the Xbox app or online store. Now, it looks like that issue has been officially resolved. As for “Red Dead Redemption”, the game will be made available regardless whether the player bought the original version, ‘Undead Nightmare’ or ‘Game of the Year’ Edition.
For all things fun and awesome, stick with ITM! On Xbox One, Red Dead Redemption runs at a consistent 30 frames-per-second, while the original Xbox 360 game occasionally dipped into the mid-20s.
As with all previous Backwards Compatible titles, if you already own the title, you’ll be able to download it to your Xbox One and play it once Friday rolls around.
Microsoft clearly had a decent idea of the popularity of the title as Larry Hyrb, otherwise known as Major Nelson announced Red Dead Redemption was becoming backwards compatible on July 5, days ahead of the launch.
Alternatively, you can check the Xbox Store: the game is £6.24 for Gold members, £8.74 otherwise.
These include Myths and Mavericks, Legends and Killers Pack, Liars and Cheats for multiplayer and also Outlaws to the End for Co-Op and Hunting and Trading for outfits. All the DLC is free now, except for Undead Nightmare which you can get for £6.75.
Red Dead Redemption is available now for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. “It’s the publisher’s right to be sure the game plays as well if not better”, he said.
