Redick scores 31 to lead Clippers over Bucks, 109-95
The Clippers rank in the top ten for every offensive team efficiency statistic except for pace of play, sit around league-average in terms of defensive efficiency (101.5 points per hundred possessions, 16th overall), and are not a great rebounding unit given their ranking in the bottom third of the National Basketball Association for all rebounding rates (cumulatively paralleling their previous season pretty consistently). Center DeAndre Jordan pulled down a game-high 19 rebounds.
Michael Carter-Williams finished with 20 points and 11 assists for the Bucks. Greg Monroe had 16 points and nine rebounds. Then came an incredible showing for both players in Milwaukee, with Redick scoring 31 points and Paul scoring 18 points with 18 assists, his most dimes in any game as a Clipper.
Of Redick’s 6 three-pointers, perhaps none was more satisfying than the one he drilled off a missed free throw/offensive rebound after the Bucks turned to the Hack-A midway through the fourth quarter.
Thankfully for the Clippers and their frustrated fans, Doc Rivers only used Pierce for just under six minutes against the Bucks and didn’t play him in the second half. Paul had 28 points and 12 assists in a 10-point victory at Chicago on March 1, the Clippers’ fifth consecutive triumph in the Windy City.ABOUT THE BULLS (11-8): Head coach Fred Hoiberg said he liked his team’s effort in the loss to Boston, but some of his veteran players are struggling to determine why that effort is not translating to wins.
First, because Milwaukee squandered an eleven point first half lead (much like they did against Portland on Monday night). As they took down the Milwaukee Bucks on the road 109-95, Redick went off for the kind of game he was due for.
In comparison to players like Crawford and Pierce, the Clippers’ offensive rating drops when they’re in the game. PG Michael Carter-Williams, meanwhile, remained in a bench role. “Trying to find ways to stay together through adversity”. “I feel like if I take the shots that I take in practice that eventually I’ll hit something”, Redick said who played for the Bucks back in 2013.
The Los Angeles Clippers seem to have gotten back on track recently as they have won six of their last seven games and are now 13-9. Vasquez has been out since November 27 with soreness in his right ankle….
The Duke trio of Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts, and Justise Winslow combined for 12 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal as the Miami Heat lost to the Charlotte Hornets 99-81. The Chicago Bulls are averaging 98.8 points on 42.3 percent shooting and allowing 98.3 points on 41.1 percent shooting.
