Redskins could play twice in London next season
The NFL has confirmed its slate of London games for 2016, and announced that the St Louis Rams will play in the first ever American Football match to be hosted at Twickenham. The Giants, and the rest of the NFC East, are scheduled to play road games next season against the team from the NFC West that has the same 2015 divisional finish.
It’s the first London game for the Colts. “It will provide a strong platform for our region’s culture and recent progress”. I always kept wondering when I would be able to play back over there again.
What started as a turbulent week on the field has turned into a disheartening turn off it for the St. Louis Rams, who look to halt a three-game losing streak when they visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The St. Louis Rams will play a to-be-determined opponent from the NFC East on October 23 at Twickenham Stadium. We knew they would be back in London in 2016 (possibly twice) and Wednesday they announced who their opponent would be and when: the Indianapolis Colts on October 2nd.
The Bengals have been chosen to play in the 2016 worldwide Series that takes place in London.
These are all questions to be asked at a later time, but it’s looking like the Washington Redskins are going to get a bit of an worldwide flavor in 2016.
Prior to 2007. the league staged occasional preseason games in England, one of which Lewis was a part of as a coaching intern with San Francisco in 1988.
“We have had no formal discussions with the Rams about their 2016 intentions or a London game in 2016”.
Then, on October 30, the action will return to Wembley as the Cincinnati Bengals come up against the Washington Redskins.
That means at least five games a week shown on TV, online, mobile and tablet devices across the regular season, every play-off clash, the Super Bowl and the Pro Bowl.
“I can’t think of a better way for us to leverage one of our best assets, the Bengals, to promote our city to businesses and tourists in the United Kingdom”, Cranley said.
Information regarding tickets to the game and travel packages will be available at a later date. The Bengals opened the season with eight consecutive victories but have dropped two in a row following a last-second defeat at Arizona on Sunday night.
