Reese Witherspoon ‘ready’ for a potential Legally Blonde 3
Talking on Lifetime’s Fashionably Late, the actress has fuelled hopes of Legally Blonde 3. We couldn’t agree more to be honest, celebratory bend and snap, anyone?
Reese Witherspoon said although she is not the one to decide about the project, she would love to see everyone’s favourite Gemini vegetarian as president.
However, the Oscar victor now feels the time is right for her to star in a third Legally Blonde film as she would like to see her character emulate US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and aim for the upper reaches of American politics.
In the sequel, which made $124m in 2003, Woods goes to Washington DC to try to pass a ban on animal testing.
The Legally Blonde and Walk the Line actress has frequently been spotted out with her whole handsome brood in tow. Reese Witherspoon thinks the timing is right. If Reese Witherspoon herself is excited to see Elle Woods take on a bigger role in politics, then we might expect to see another sequel for “Legally Blonde”.
Witherspoon may be up for another “Legally Blonde”, but she admits that it’s up to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios to make the dream happen. As for getting the ball rolling, Witherspoon joked: “Call MGM”. A Broadway musical based on the movie also debuted in 2007, while a straight-to-video spinoff was released in 2009. “Reese deserved it, and she did a much better job than I ever could”, Applegate said.
Back in 2013, Jennifer Coolidge, Reese’s co-star in the movie, said that Reese turned down a third film before, but cited there was a good reason.
