Refs rob Patriots of potential touchdown with ‘inadvertent whistle’ in Monday
But so do the wins.
The Buffalo Bills had plenty of chances.
Amendola, who took over as the Patriots’ No. 1 receiver because of last week’s injury to Julian Edelman, caught nine passes for 117 yards before leaving with a knee injury of his own. Instead, prior to the whistle, he flicked the ball to Danny Amendola, who worked his way back towards the sideline and the ball only to reverse field, making the catch and heading for the end zone.
So the Patriots (10-0) finished the tough, physical battle with two wide receivers and one of them, Chris Harper, was just brought back from the practice squad.
It led to an uneven win.
“I don’t think that’s an excuse”.
No team has lost more games against Tom Brady than the Buffalo Bills. “I think we can play better”, Brady said. Several miscommunicated passes stalled out Buffalo drives and a pair of plays with blown coverage by Buffalo’s secondary would allow Patriots to score twice. “We need everybody every week, and he made some plays for us today”. “He’s smart. He gets rid of the ball when he needs to. He doesn’t take risks”.
And he also called Ryan’s name on an audible.
“I mean, guys are going to go down”, White said.
-RB LeSean McCoy had a 27-yard touchdown run in the loss.
He also knows there’s not much time to celebrate his touchdowns or the hard-fought victory.
The Bills kicked a field goal to make it a one score game with 3:30 seconds left but did not any closer.
He hasn’t missed an extra point since his rookie season of 2006, an National Football League record 446 in a row. White added a 6-yard run in the third quarter to give New England (10-0) the lead for good. However, the Bills never managed to even get into Hail Mary range as Tyrod Taylor was struggling to throw due to an injured throwing shoulder, though it appeared the Bills should have had time for one more snap.
With ground to cover, the Bills came out of the half fired up, putting continuous pressure on Tom Brady. By rule, the play was called dead at the spot of the catch, giving Amendola a 14-yard gain. They could only advance four more yards, however, and Stephen Gostkowski missed a field goal wide right. We’ve got to hit those throws and we’ve got to catch the ball. Take off those annoying trousers, and join us in the open thread tonight.
The defender was trailing by a considerable margin (although he clearly pulled up when he heard the whistle) and Amendola likely would have went streaking in for a score. Ryan must have been feeling pretty confident about holding the Patriots to a field goal with just 19 ticks before intermission. The network told news “The Bills have won consecutive games for the first time this season and now get the undefeated Patriots”.
Rex Ryan was assessed a 15-yard penalty for getting in the way of an official during the play, which may explain the whistle. To Gene Steratore from us all, that was pathetic. Game-time temperature was 29 degrees with a wind chill of 21….
RUNNING AWAY: The Patriots lead the AFC East by five games with six to play.
As the wins keep mounting, so do the injury concerns for New England’s football team. “People are going to have to be ready no matter what the situation is”.
