Reliance Jio commercial 4G launch likely next month, to offer free voice
Apart from these basic services, users will get HD voice and video calling, and access to Jio applications for three months, TechPP reported.
Samsung and Reliance Jio 4G have tied-up for a scheme, where users of top-end Samsung smartphones will able to get the Reliance Jio 4G SIM and use the data services for free for the next three months.
Freedom plan may offer 1 GB data and free calls in just Rs 80.
Reliance Jio was now offering the free data preview for the 4G SIM only with its Lyf brands of phones.
Since the company hasn’t commercially launched its Jio 4G services, there is no other way to get the Jio 4G SIM with preview offer offering unlimited 4G data, calls, and messages.
Reliance officials are tight-lipped about the introduction of the service and the offerings to be made by Jio during its rollout. The Samsung Galaxy A5, Galaxy A5 (2016), Galaxy A7, Galaxy A7 (2016), Galaxy A8, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 5 Duos, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S7, and the Galaxy S7 Edge are eligible under such category.
To avail the offer, users of the above-mentioned select Samsung smartphones will have to download the MyJio app. Users will have to provide their personal details like ID and address proof on MyJio app. Clicking on the option will generate a coupon with a barcode and Jio Offer code that mentions a period of validity. Reports at the time claimed that the company had begun selling 4G smartphones equipped with Jio SIM cards in India’s major cities; however, it was allegedly a soft launch, and not a fully-fledged commercial launch. Since the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) for Jio is not yet active, the users will be getting a new SIM. A company spokesperson declined to comment and an e-mail sent to Jio seeking comments failed to elicit a response.
