Remnants of Hurricane Patricia to Bring Rain to Central Illinois
It will be noticeably cooler today, as clouds, rain and east breezes knock our readings into the 50s for most neighborhoods. While it may not be raining all day long, several rounds of steady rain can be expected. The breezy conditions should last through this evening and into tonight. The rain will continue overnight with temperatures only dropping a few degrees in to the lower 50’s. The bulk of the rain will hold off until Tuesday and Wednesday but there will still be a few around today, especially across the mountains and foothills.
After a rainy start to the weekend, Chicago-area skies will clear, bringing the city a mild and spectacularly sunny Sunday. Mid to upper 60s for highs on Monday will be followed by mid 60s on Tuesday as heavy rain and gusty winds set in from the remnants of what was Hurricane Patricia. Highs should make it back to the lower 70s as lows that night drop into the low 50s. Peeks of sunshine are certainly not out of the question but there will be more clouds than sun as highs reach only into the mid 60s. Thursday night should be the coolest of the week with lows dipping into the mid-to-upper 40s.
