Rene Angelil Funeral Friday In Montreal
Quebec songbird Celine Dion returned to the Montreal basilica where she married Rene Angelil in a fairy tale wedding 21 years ago to say goodbye to her husband. Angelil passed away at the age of 73 after a lengthy battle with throat cancer.
Dion was dressed appropriately in a black coat over a black dress with a pair of black pump shoes and leather gloves.
As per the photos snapped by paparazzi, the mother of Dion, Therese, was seen arriving at the church to support her daughter.
Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil died last week and an open casket viewing has been set up for the fans of the late musical icon.
She did not speak publicly at the funeral, instead leaving her and Angélil’s eldest son, René-Charles, to deliver a touching eulogy.

Countless Quebec celebrities and dignitaries noted Angélil’s generosity, among them former premier Jean Charest, current premier Philippe Couillard and the mayors of Montreal and Quebec City, Denis Coderre and Régis Labeaume.

Patrick Angelil, one of Rene’s sons from a previous marriage, said while the world is remembering Angelil the talented manager and tenacious showman, he was remembering his and his siblings’ father.
However, with the devastating events happening in her life right now, we are yet to know if a new album launch will push through this year.
