Report Shows More Than Twenty Virgins Have Given Birth In Britain
Four major British fertility firms said they had assisted in such cases, with doctors suggesting there have been at least 25 such births in the past five years.
It’s now emerged that around 25 women have given birth in Britain, despite being virgins.
Supporters of the traditional family system, however, have blasted the “distorted” move, stating that it was turning young children into “teddy bears” that are to be “picked off the shelf”.
Clinics report some clients are spending £5000 on fertility treatment to have children rather than wait for “Mr Right”.
“A small percentage of them have never been in a relationship and never had sexual intercourse”, added Ragunath.
Ragunath adds that over the past three years she’s treated three such women: a nurse, another living at home with parents, and a third who needed multiple rounds of IVF.
“The ideal is that a child has a mother and a father who are married to each other”.
James Newcome, the Anglican Bishop of Carlisle, said such trends could damage society.
Women feel that they want to be mothers, without needing to enter a relationship with a man or a marriage to do so.
“Virgin birth” is how women are being described in the 21st century who give birth to babies born via IVF and they’ve never had sex as reported by the Daily Mail. About 28% of those girls’ parents said they rarely talked to them about sex or contraception – compared to only 5% of other women who became pregnant and had had intercourse. Clinics said they place great importance on the child’s welfare as well.
IVF clinics emphasized that before a patient can undergo the fertilization procedure, she is required to see a counselor first to help her understand the treatment and effects of using sperm from a donor.
