Reports of 20 victims at shooting in California: Fire department
The shooter or shooters remain on the loose.
Sources say there were three shooters armed with rifles, but as of now no suspects have been apprehended.
A witness told CNN the suspects fled in a black SUV. The largest of the regional centers in California, the IRC says its core values of “independence, inclusion and empowerment are the foundation that drives all staff in interactions, provisions of services, and program planning processes”.
KTLA-TV reported that the San Bernardino Fire Department said it was responding to a report of “a 20-victim shooting”. It is not a safe area to be.
It aims to “work on a personal, one-on-one basis with people with developmental disabilities to make their lives better as they define it”.
At least 12 people killed and up to 20 injured.
The FBI and federal ATF agents were also heading to the scene, officials said. “The parking lot was full”.
Police officers with heavy weapons have been dispatched to key sites nearby like universities, hospitals and Planned Parenthood buildings that could be vulnerable, according to law enforcement.
“Our friend’s daughter is in there too and she texted, and so they’re both hiding. There was probably 550 employees inside the building”.
Marcos Aguilera’s wife was in the building when the gunfire broke out. “I have no idea”, the woman said.
“We often let other groups rent out the space”, she added. “They [saw] bodies on the floor”, he said.
Aguilera said she was able to escape the building.
The Sheriff’s Department warned people to avoid the area due to police activity.
President Barack Obama has been briefed by his homeland security adviser, Lisa Monaco, about the shooting in San Bernardino and has asked to be updated on the situation. “My heart aches that the out-of-control gun violence epidemic has come to our community”.
According to San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office, there are one to three possible shooting suspects.
Doug Saunders, a local journalist, has tweeted the following image, which he reports as being the San Bernardino Police Department SWAT team at the scene of the incident.
