Republic of Ireland team not licensed for PES’ Euro 2016 DLC
The official announcement explains that the UEFA Euro 2016 DLC will include 15 teams with fully licensed players and equipment: for England, France, Wales, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Iceland, Turkey, Albania, and Northern Ireland.
Only one real-life stadium, Stade de France, which will host the final match, is included.
Austria, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Republic of Ireland, Romania, Russia, Sweden, and Switzerland won’t have the latest team strips in place or official player faces.
The other nine nations that will be part of the competition will have a generic presentation, and the development team says that it is tweaking the entire look of the game to reflect the way UEFA Euro 2016 is shown to fans on television.
Are you angry at Konami for not getting the full licenses for the aforementioned teams, or are you indifferent about it? All squads will also be in line with those of the qualifying nations with the various playing styles perfectly replicated via the game’s innovative Player ID and Team ID systems, which mimic the exact playing styles of both individual players and the team as a whole.
The Euro 2016 expansion pack for PES 2016 will be released on March 24th and is a free update to everyone who already owns the game on any platform, so perhaps the DLC’s shortcoming aren’t so bad after all. This includes the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Konami secured the official UEFA EURO 2016 license past year.
