Republican Donald Trump paying another visit to Maine
Speaking to the Herald’s Scott Thistle shortly before taking the stage for a rally in Portland, Maine Thursday, Trump discussed his admiration for Maine Gov. “The safest”, he said.
“This country is built based on bringing people from diverse backgrounds, and African immigrants are not any different than people from anywhere else“. Then, Trump’s speech was interrupted again by a protestor blowing a whistle.
– This being a Trump rally, there were protests outside the event, as well as inside.
“We do not have values in this city that will create an economic divide even wider between the richest and the poorest, we do not have values in this city that espouse bigotry, that push hate”, he says. “You know, black and white, right and wrong”, he said.
If he becomes President he’ll swear to protect it, but Donald Trump didn’t want the Constitution at one of his rallies.
Both major party presidential contenders are spending time in ME and Nebraska this election cycle in an effort to pick off just one single electoral vote from their competition.
Trump’s supporters responded to his mention of Clinton by chanting, “Lock her up!”
Get ready Portland, Donald Trump may be coming soon.
Kaine also says Clinton understands the need for criminal justice reform and rebuilding trust between police and communities.
“America is a country built on the ideal that all people are worthwhile”, the statement reads.
But he also says that Trump “has had a pretty unusual run since the convention”.
“It’s sort of rude, when you think about it”.
The stop will be part of a West Coast fundraising push with events set to take place in Napa, California, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland between August 29 and 31. Some supporters hope Pence will counterbalance Trump’s more provocative remarks.
