Republican presidential candidate Rubio raised $6 million in third quarter
Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign is reporting a $12.2 million fundraising boost over the past three months.
His campaign cautioned, however, that Rubio has $11 million in the bank, despite the disappointing amount raised.
Aides to the Florida senator announced those totals at a donor retreat Thursday in Las Vegas, according to a person present.
Republicans use legislative tactic to gut several pieces of healthcare law, defund abortion provider. The third-quarter haul means his campaign has raked in well over $26 million since launching in March. It suggests that Rubio spent most of the money he raised over the Summer.
He is a good man, but my disappointment at him leaving the race was made easier by the fact that we have another great candidate who shares these very same attributes – Marco Rubio.
Walker has since dropped out, but there are still more than a dozen candidates in the crowded Republican field. They added that October was the campaign’s best month so far. To date, Cruz has raised just under $30 million for his individual campaign, against around $18 million for Rubio. The officials told donors that Rubio had raised more than $1 million online in September alone, but described July and August as particularly hard months because of the entry of rival candidates and the summer vacation season. Instead, propelled by his conservative principles, relentless work ethic, and inspiring message, Senator Rubio drove Crist out of the party and united Republicans for a clear and convincing victory.
Rubio will stay in Southern Nevada for two more days.
