US President Donald Trump gestures as he speaks about some Democrats in Congress at a rally on October 2, 2018, in Southaven, Mississippi.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said that President Trump was merely “stating the facts” when he reenacted Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s Senate testimony about her sexual assault allegation.
Imitating Ford, Mr. Trump added, “But I had one beer – that’s the only thing I remember”.

Yet Republicans are pushing forward with Kavanaugh’s nomination, seeing enthusiasm among the GOP base rising dramatically in the midst of the Kavanaugh controversy. “It’s fine”, Goldberg said toward the audience as he signaled for them to stop objecting.
“Are you saying Judge Kavanaugh is the victim in all this?”
A handful of senators are undecided on Kavanaugh.
