Reputation of Beechgrove Wal-Mart tainted even more in most rece
The mayor of Beech Grove, Indiana just couldn’t take all the shenanigans at the local Walmart anymore so he’s declared it a public nuisance. He ran to a nearby restaurant and shot himself in the head. He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Mayor Dennis Buckley said last week, “There is a 10-day grace period”.
Police say an off-duty deputy was working security at the Wal-Mart when he approached two men who were suspected of shoplifting. The police have made 473 arrests at the store.
Samples was wanted for parole violation and battery by means of a deadly weapon, and for being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm, police said.
Walmart spokesman Brian Nick commended the store’s employees for keeping other shoppers safe during the latest trouble, but also expressed frustration, the Star reports.
“Police officers that go down there, they have the authority to write nuisance tickets to Wal-Mart and it goes to Wal-Mart it doesn’t go to the customer”, Buckley told the Jonathon Brandmeier Show on 89-WLS. The mayor says he has had enough of the issues and is sick of Walmart tainting his city’s reputation, declaring them a public nuisance for the first time.
In response to the designation, Nick said Wal-Mart officials will work to keep the store peaceful. One woman’s 6-year-old son joins the fight, throwing punches and tossing a shampoo bottle. Within two weeks back in June, an alleged shoplifter at the same store was involved in a auto crash that killed a 63-year-old woman while fleeing police, the Star reported.
