Resident Evil 4 Release Date For PS4 and Xbox One Announced
Video game developer Capcom officially reveals the release date for the seminal survival horror title Resident Evil 4 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The game was first released in 2004 and has since become one of the most acclaimed games in the long-running Resident Evil series.
“This potent combination of exotic weaponry and dynamic enemy encounters is part of why RE4 was not only incredibly innovative for the wider video game industry, but has stood the test of time”, Capcom community manager Tim Turi wrote on the company’s Unity blog.
For those unaware, since 2016 marks the 20th anniversary for the Resident Evil franchise, Capcom announced earlier this year that it would be giving the fourth, fifth, and sixth entries in the series versions on the PS4 and Xbox One.
New release includes original bonus content and later-added features.
No price point has yet been given, but Resident Evil 5 now sits at $20 on current-gen consoles, so we can probably anticipate the same kind of price range.
Originally released in 2005, Resident Evil 4 is widely regarded as not just one of the best in the series, but on of the greatest games of all time. Also included is a side story focusing on the mysterious Ada Wong, which adds a new perspective on Leon Kennedy’s mission.
Mercenaries Mode – The addicting evolution of Resident Evil 3’s bonus mode is awarded to players who complete the campaign, providing hours of replayability and lets fans play as Wesker, Hunk, and more iconic characters. The game will come to both systems on August 30, 2016.
