ResponsibleOhio takes marijuana legalization campaign on the road
There are plenty of physicians, researchers and patients-including medical marijuana refugees from Ohio-who support marijuana for medical purposes, and they’re sick of the status quo.
“These high personal possession limits will likely result in broad exposure of children and underage high school and college students to marijuana”, Ohioans Against Marijuana Monopolies said in a press release.
The group pushing to legalize marijuana in Ohio will tour all 88 counties in a neon green camper before Election Day.
The tour announcement came hours before opponents of the proposal planned to formally launch their campaign at an afternoon news conference at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
Reggie Fields, a spokesman for the Ohio State Medical Association, said the organization could not see any healthy lifestyle benefit from the recreational use of marijuana..
“Right now in the state of Ohio, drug dealers are selling to kids without IDing them”, Oltman told reporters. Officials say the anti-monopoly measure is written in a way to trump the marijuana amendment.
ResponsibleOhio’s plan involves 10 designated growing sites, owned exclusively by wealthy investors who are pumping at least $20 million into the campaign.
The state Ballot Board is scheduled to meet Tuesday to approve ballot language and receive explanations and arguments for all three statewide initiatives up for a vote on November 3.
