Rex Ryan needs to plug growing holes on his sinking Bills ship
Following a dominating performance against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Washington Redskins moved to 7-7 on the season and in sole possession of first place in the NFC East division.
Maybe the thing to say about the Redskins is that they are the least disappointed team in a disappointing division.
Taylor and the Buffalo Bills lost to the Washington Redskins, 35-25, eliminating the Bills from playoff contention.
“Obviously this came down to the fact that we couldn’t stop them on defense”, Ryan said. I’m sure some Bills fans were thinking “now, we get calls!” “I couldn’t hear play calls and all that stuff”. If the line is doing something wrong, messing up, call them out. “Hopefully we can keep it up, get into the playoffs and make some noise”. But we have a job to do before that, and that’s where my focus is, is on right here and right now. “We’ve got all the faith in the world in him”. Forget the money. You’ve got to go out there each week and play for the guy next to you. Hey, this is your job. Bottom line, like anybody else in any line of work, in any job you have, you want to be where you’re wanted, and I’m no different.
Even if Washington has a let down against the Eagles, they are not out of it. However, they would need to take care of business at Dallas and hope NY defends their home field against Philadelphia. He shows up trying to get the game plan, and then to be questioned that somebody made up this thing fictitiously in my opinion, I think would set off anybody.
RUSH DEFENSE: C. The Bills actually did a decent job, as they allowed 123 yards, with 48 of that coming on a run by Alfred Morris in the final half minute of the first half that was inconsequential.
While Watkins didn’t specifically call out anyone, he did address the need for more accountability from his teammates. The Bills coaches and players need to figure out where that disconnect stems from, and figure it out before the start of 2016.
As a dejected Ryan spoke, one of his most talented players, receiver Sammy Watkins, held court in the locker room, passionately declaring that he needed to take the matter of fixing the broken Bills into his own hands.
Which teams? Well, the last time they shared headlines, it was because their players couldn’t stop hitting each other. We’re learning and starting to feel better about the system on both sides of the ball and special teams. Now they look like a team that needs a rebuild. “I think we’re heading in the right direction and that’s encouraging”. The Redskins had rallied from a 24-0 deficit to earn the victory and stay in the NFC East hunt with a 3-4 record. Jordan Reed has played in 12 games for the first time in his career; he’s in the top six among tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches. Coach Rex Ryan told reporters after the game that “drastic changes” will be coming in an effort to end the postseason drought in Buffalo.
