Reyes rejoins Mets, gets warm hand in return from suspension
After clubbing two home runs on Tuesday night against the New York Mets, Giancarlo Stanton has taken Jacob deGrom deep twice in six innings, the second of which was the 200th of his career.
Chen (5-3) tossed seven innings of three-hit ball, spoiling Jose Reyes’ return to the Mets in his first major league game since a 59-day domestic violence suspension.

The two-homer game was the first of the season for Stanton, who is hitting just.226 with 17 homers and 45 RBIs through the Marlins’ first 84 games.
“I did not know that until a minute ago”. Manager Don Mattingly said he didn’t expect Bour to be back before Wednesday afternoon’s series finale.
Well, at least we got that over with.
After he was cut by the Rockies, Reyes signed a minor league contract with the Mets to play his way into big league shape. Fernando Rodney gave up De Aza’s first career pinch-hit homer, but A.J. “One guy gets hot and others get cold”.
