RG3 says he is the best quarterback in the NFL
However, if the reaction to Griffin’s “I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league” comment made earlier this week is any indication, most football fans aren’t buying what he’s selling.
Without playing too much amateur psychologist, a professional athlete thinking they’re the best at what they do isn’t necessarily too far-fetched.
He added, “There’s guys in this league that have done way more than me. However, I nonetheless view myself as the flawless as a result of that is what I work towards each single day”. And although the decision to bench the controversial quarterback was seen as a sign of Griffin’s impending departure, the franchise did pick up his fifth-year option in April.
Former Redskins player Brian Mitchell is among those who digested Griffin’s comments and had something to say about them.
Quarterback Robert Griffin III said he had no concern about lost practice time with Jackson, in which he could work on timing with team’s most explosive receiver.
Oh, and then “I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league” just became the latest Internet meme, grinding a pretty thoughtful interview into a few words and using it to rip Griffin. Ugh. “I think everyone in this circle [of reporters] knows what I meant”.
“I must arrive for him on the grounds that I know, it places you in a dim spot, man”, Hayward said.
The reaction wavered from ridiculing Griffin for his supposed arrogance to insulting him for his decline after his outstanding rookie year in 2012.
“What’s going to make you important – and I want everyone over there in your little PR department [to listen]”. New Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan signaled that in April when he said Griffin “does not affect our draft process whatsoever”.
RG3 set off his haters this week when he told WJLA-TV that he’s not only the best quarterback on the team, something his head coach probably disagrees with, he’s also the best in the NFL. Even worse, his rushing attempts, yards per game, and yards per carry have all dipped in every season hes’ been in the NFL. As is the case in many situations, winning would go a long way in helping to keep the heat off RGIII. “You give him chances, he’ll make those plays for you”.
