Riccardo Tisci Opens Up about His Friendship with Kim Kardashian

Riccardo Tisci is indeed a fiercely loyal friend, particularly to all those who are in his inner circle. The creative director of Givenchy opens up about his friendship with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.

Riccardo counts Kanye and Kim among his closest pals and biggest fans. And he also said that he likes to be surrounded with people whom he likes, and irrespective of their resume or social standing. He said that he also want others to do like him. Tisci said, “They feel that I’m not there to dress a celebrity. I dress people even when they don’t have an Oscar nomination or they don’t have an album out.” He continued, “If they’re my friends, I respect them to the end. And you need to feel people stay with you because they love you, not only as an artist, but also as a human being. Look at Kanye and Kim — at the beginning I was the only one.”

Tisci said that Kim, in particular, was not accepted in the community of fashion by anyone, and that is when the two first became friends with each other. The fashion visionary said about Kim that “She’s a sweet girl.” He also told that he and Kanye built her up together. According to Tisci, “And Kanye and me, we did it together. Every designer is dying to dress her now.”

Tisci is now one of the personal favorites of Kim. He was the man who created the wedding gown of Kim when she married Kanye West in Italy. Tisci also dressed the controversial floral gown of Kim for the event of Met Gala 2013.

He also told, “I didn’t care what people thought about Kim.” Tisci continued, “In the beginning, I met her because of my respect for Kanye, and then I liked her a lot and we became friends. I got killed because of this. But I didn’t care. That is a friend, you see. And that is why, when they got married, they asked me to dress them. They say, ‘You’ve always been with us. You’ve been a real friend.’ If I like somebody, I like somebody. If I don’t like somebody, I don’t like somebody.”?
