Rice offers Hardy recommendation: Look deeper into severity of domestic violence
A penitent Rice also suggested that Hardy take a deeper look into the “severity of domestic violence”.
“When I look at a guy like Greg Hardy, I think of the situation as something like, “What can I do to help him?” ” Rice said.
“You have to be honest in your actions”, Rice said as he discussed Hardy, USA Today wrote. “You don’t have to win another football game, you don’t need another dollar to go out and make a difference in peoples’ lives”.
Hardy hasn’t shown any remorse, at least not publicly. Hardy, however, not only cashed his franchise-player salary from the Panthers in 2014 while sitting on the commissioners exempt list, but he signed a deal worth upwards of $11 million with the Cowboys in the offseason, too.
Hardy was found guilty this summer of assaulting his then-girlfriend (Hardy and his now-ex-girlfriend reached a settlement, and his record was later expunged) and disgraced recently by newly released pictures of his ex-girlfriend shortly after she says he attacked her.
He just wants the chance that Hardy already got. Despite cries for him to release Hardy, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has supported his decision to offer the 27-year-old a second chance, going so far as to call him a team leader.
Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has apparently learned a lot since he was caught on video knocking out his now-wife in a hotel elevator a year ago. However, he’s lucky to still have a job – just ask Ray Rice.
Rice has been contrite, doing many interviews apologizing for the incident in which he punched the woman who would become his wife in an Atlantic City elevator, including interviews with his wife at his side. I was at a point where I didn’t know how to live.
His days with the Ravens may be long gone, but Ray Rice hasn’t given up on his football career. I’m thankful for the opportunity to go out there and make a difference. In early voting, 82% said that Rice did indeed deserve another shot.
