Rick Perry’s campaign is imploding

Former Gov. Rick Perry, whose presidential campaign reduced its Iowa team earlier this week to a single paid staffer, is also seeing its ranks dwindle in another early voting state: New Hampshire.

The news comes amid a free fall for Perry, who has not paid campaign staff since mid-August and has been toiling at the back of the field nearly since the start of the campaign. “Whether it’s his time serving as governor of the 12th largest economy in the world, stepping in when Washington D.C. failed to secure our border, or serving our country in the U.S. Air Force, Gov. Perry’s record is unmatched by any other candidate in the field”. As his assets have grown extra strained, Perry seems to have decided, at the least tacitly, that his restricted assets will go additional in Iowa.

According to WMUR, the ABC affiliate in Concord, New Hampshire, Perry’s last remaining strategist in the Granite State, Michael Dennehy, said he has not “been paid by the (Perry) campaign since June and has not heard from Perry or anyone from Perry’s national campaign for the past month”.

Vitagliano’s departure now leaves Perry’s already bare-bones presence in New Hampshire almost non-existent. He said he advised Perry to set up camp in Iowa and stay there.

“Gov. Perry continues to travel the country sharing his optimistic vision for the future of the country and his proven record of success, and he continues to focus on competing in the early states”.

“We’ll look at New Hampshire and South Carolina further down the line, but we candidly view Iowa as the better target”, he said. “It doesn’t suggest we’re excluding something shifting ahead, however South Carolina might be the subsequent greatest goal”.

On Monday, another Texan, Senator Ted Cruz, made his first visit to New Hampshire and opened up his state headquarters.
