Ridley Scott’s Prometheus 2 supposedly shoots in January
Following up on the controversial ending to 2012’s Prometheus, Scott seems determined to carry his science fiction saga about the genesis of man (not to mention the Alien franchise) forward and into the great unknown with a production start date on Prometheus 2 scheduled for January.
The sequel to the science fiction thriller movie, “Prometheus“, was announced in 2014 but since then, little details have been revealed on its progress.
Director Ridley Scott has been pretty busy lately, but he’s finally found some room in his schedule to direct Prometheus 2. The problem with these unconfirmed reports is that a lot of things could change between now and the suspected start date. “I kind of adore it”.
Separately, Neill Blomkamp’s Alien 5, which it won’t end up being called, is also in development, and both films are expected to go ahead.
It then went on to say: ‘He begins shooting Prometheus 2 in January.’.
Just last year, many thought that Scott’s Prometheus follow-up would land in March 2016, but the director decided to tackle The Martain, an adaptation of Andy Weir best-selling sci-fi novel first.
One thing that won’t be present for the sequel are the fan-favorite Xenomorphs from the original Alien franchise.
The movie is reportedly set to continue the story and mission of Elizabeth Shaw, played by Noomi Rapace, and android Michael Fassbender, to meet the Engineers in their planet and unravel the mystery of the beginning of humanity.
