Rihanna finally releases ANTI – exclusively on Tidal
Earlier this week, Rihanna tweeted that she was listening to her much-delayed new album ANTI, implying its release was imminent. However, the album was “accidentally uploaded” on Tidal Wednesday evening. Right now, the entire album is available on Tidal. The music-streaming service is giving away a limited amount of download codes for free for both subscribers and nonsubscribers that also come with a 60-day free trial.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is reportedly convinced her new album will earn her a Grammy award.
The Barbadian singer will go on a world tour next month, with the first stop in San Diego. Because Drake and Rihanna have teamed up before on 2010’s RiRi single “What’s My Name” and Drake’s 2011 title track “Take Care”, it’s not shocking to note that the two’s chemistry on this track is undeniable. Similar to her previous albums, the 13-track LP blends R&B, hip-hop, pop and reggae. A 16-track deluxe version will be released on Friday, January 29th. In March, new music from Rihanna was also made available but it turned out that it wasn’t part of the album.
Earlier this week, Rihanna teased fans with a picture, via Twitter, showing off some serious bling and hinting at her finished album. On Wednesday, she offered another glimpse of the record, returning to the social-media platform to debut her first single, “Work”. Rihanna celebrated the release by telling fans, “You guys legit made me the happiest girl in the world!!”
For about half a decade, you could set your watch to Rihanna’s regular November album releases. It’s the most rewarding feeling. Even the first single that was connected with the project – the edgy, but memorable “FourFiveSeconds” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney – was more immediate than “Work“.
