Rihanna joins Ocean’s Eight cast
– Two more actresses have been added to the upcoming all-female cast of “Ocean’s Eleven” remake.
Sandra Bullock will lead an all-female team in the heist thriller spinoff, which also includes Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, and Rihanna.
The movie, set to be helmed by The Hunger Games director Gary Ross, is scheduled to begin production this October in NY.
If the deals go through, these names will be added to the cast that now includes Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett, making the group just one person shy of the titular eight.
Ocean’s 8 will also be produced by Soderbergh, and penned by Olivia Milch.
There is a very real possibility that some of those actors would make a cameo in “Ocean’s Eight”, according to the report.
“Both [Bullock and Blanchett] have won Oscars and so has Hathaway, with Carter nominated twice”, stated Deadline.com writer Mike Fleming Jr. Production is expected to begin in NY this October, but it is not yet known when it will hit our screens.
“I think it’s a pretty similar tone”. You know, Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren’t.
“Ocean’s Eight” is a spinoff of 2001’s “Ocean’s Eleven”, which is itself a reboot/remake of the 1960 film of the same name that starred Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
When the project was first announced, acaresses such as Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett were among those rumoured for the film, but with the studio announcing its principal cast, those roles have been confirmed. I’m in no way trying to reinvent the tone, and I’m thrilled and honoured to be extending it. “It’s really fun to work with.”, revealed Gary Ross.
