Rihanna’s Grammy performance canceled due to throat infection
Oh, no! At the very last minute, Rihanna was forced to cancel her performance at the 2016 Grammys.
Rihanna wasn’t nominated for any Grammys this year since ANTI missed the Grammy deadline, but will probably score a couple nods in 2017. Unfortunately, the ANTI singer pulled out of a performance her fans were really, really looking forward to during the first hour of the show. She had been on antibiotics ahead of the show but her publicist says her doctor concluded her condition hadn’t improved enough by Monday night.
A doctor reportedly warned the singer that performing could permanently damage her vocal chords. She’s going home from the ceremony, and we’re all worse off without her.
The celebrity news website TMZ said she was suffering bronchitis and chose to drop the performance to avoid damaging her voice.
It’s unknown at this time, who (if anyone) will fill the Rihanna void. Here’s hoping a kiss or two will make it better.
