Rihanna’s Long-Awaited New Album Anti Is Finally Out
This is RiRi’s first album since releasing Unapologetic in 2012.
The album shocked many especially after a new single made its appearance the same day.
The surprise release of a new Rihanna single, Work, went smoothly on Wednesday morning as the song shot to the top of iTunes charts in dozens of countries. Creeping synths compliment Rihanna’s dizzying words as she repeats: work, turn, dirt and love.
The album is also now available for a limited time for free, even for non-Tidal subscribers. And lucky for fans, for 24 hours, ANTI, which includes a feature by SZA, is available for free download via Tidal using the code, ANTI. Many fans were expecting it to drop in November, the month when Rihanna traditionally releases records, but it was only this week that the singer confirmed Anti was officially on its way.
The Tidal-only deal means that the LP will exclusively stream on the site for one week. The UK leg of the Anti world tour starts in June, with her first stop in Coventry.
A couple of weeks ago, Complex reported that Rihanna was shooting a new music video with Drake for a song called “Work”.
Rihanna co-owns Tidal, which has struggled to match its competitors, along with Madonna, Beyonce, Usher and other acts.
Last October, she announced the album title and revealed the cover at an art gallery party in Los Angeles.
The leaked tracklisting was also remarkable for the absence of the singles she released past year including her Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney collaboration FourFiveSeconds, American Ozygen or Bitch Better Have My Money.
Rihanna next takes off on the Anti World Tour, now scheduled for 69 dates across North America and Europe.
