Rihanna’s new album ‘ANTI’ finally makes it to the internet
“Anti” is the first album Rihanna has released since 2012 with “Unapologetic'”. First she released Work, the Drake-featuring first single from her long awaited eighth album ANTI, and then TIDAL went ahead and accidentally leaked the album.
Now, new rumors claim that the album will be released next month as Hits Daily Double claims that “Views From the 6” will be released “around Grammy time”. ANTI will stream exclusively on Tidal for one full week, and a deluxe version of the album with three bonus tracks will be made available on January 29th. As well as a digital copy of the album, the promo code gave fans a 60-day free subscription to the music-streaming portal. But, like with Jay Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail Samsung deal (which also offered up one million free downloads to fans), the downloads of Rihanna’s new album will not count toward the Billboard 200. The song isn’t up on YouTube, SoundCloud or Spotify, but is available by visiting Tidal’s homepage and left-clicking on the artwork.
The release marks the latest effort by an upstart streaming companies to challenge the dominance of streaming leader Spotify through exclusive releases. Titled “Work”, the singer has billed it as the first single from her upcoming album Anti.
Rihanna has already announced Anti tour dates, kicking off in San Diego next month.
Rihanna co-wrote the majority of the songs, while The Weeknd has a writing credit on the track “Woo”.
Anti starts off with the track Consideration, a collaboration with SZA, an R&B singer who has come to prominence more recently. Also expected to appear on ANTI are Rihanna’s previously released singles “FourFive Seconds,”Bitch Better Have My Money” and “American Oxygen”. What’s more, fans did not even have to have TIDAL subscription to download.
